3rd quarter report - july to september 2025

We are delighted to share an update on just some of the projects we have been working on this quarter.

EMERGENCY FLOOD APPEAL

The floods over the summer have had a devastating impact on Gilgit-Baltisan, causing widespread human, infrastructural and environmental losses. The disaster caused flash floods, glacial lakes outburst floods, and landslides which have totally destroyed homes and villages, and shattered countless lives.

Working with our partners on the ground, we have launched an emergency appeal to raise critical funds towards -

  • Medical Aid and Camps

  • Food Packs

  • Warm Clothes and Blankets

  • Temporary Shelter (Camps)

Photos below show the catastrophic damage caused

Works continues here as the winter fast approaches.

EYE CAMPS

Working alongside our partners on the ground and with the help of you, our generous supporters, we have been able to facilitate eye camps throughout July, August and September. This has resulted in over 2,300 cataract surgeries taking place, bringing our total so far for 2025 to over 8,200!

These life changing surgeries are vital in aiding the needy across rural areas of Kenya and Tanzania.

Sponsor an eye surgery today for only $60!

YEMEN CRISIS

BCT continues to support Yemen, and has pledged to continue to donate $12,000 each quarter towards baby milk for babies suffering from malnutrition and food parcels for families displaced by the violence of war.

WATER WELLS

Lack of access to safe and clean drinking water is the number one crisis worldwide, and BCT continue to commission water wells in locations that have dire need.

So far this quarter, BCT have commissioned 9 wells!

Further wells are available in:

Kenya at $1,900

Tanzania at $2,500

Pakistan at £850 water tank well (dug to between 150 - 190 metres)

£1,110 water tank well (dug to between 350 - 500 metres)

£1450 water tank well (dug 500+) and £175 hand pump

TAMANI FOUNDATION

Our partnership with The Tamani foundation continues, and so does the work on the new Vocational Training Centre. The centre will provide hands on training for Electricians, Plumbers and Seamstresses, along with a professional development program and further Teacher Training, especially for teachers of English, Maths and Science.

The building is almost complete and now the costly exercise of furnishing and staff wages will be the next challenge.

Photos below show the incredible work taking place.

EDUCATION

We are excited to announce that the school extension and repair projects we have been working on alongside our partners JBHT are complete and the schools have reopened to students.

Around 5,000 children, the majority of whom are girls, will have access to school and a quality education which would otherwise not be available to them.

Photos below show the amazing transformations.

KIJANA KWANZA

Pre Form 1 Course

The pre form 1 course is a 10 week residential programme based in Moshi Town, Tanzania for children with varied and complex challenges, who are at risk of dropping out of education due to the transition from Primary school, (which is taught in Swahili), into Secondary school (which is taught in English).

For the most vulnerable children, in particular those who have been orphaned or abandoned, primary school marks the end of their education.

The programme takes a multifaceted approach including an introduction to English language skills and core curriculum subjects (Maths and Science), life skills training (such as healthy living, cooking and personal hygiene) and welfare support. The goal is to equip vulnerable children with the knowledge and skills to enable them to continue their education and take control of their lives and future.

This year, there have been over 200 applications for the course from across Tanzania, and 60 have been selected to attend the programme. At the end of the course, approximately 30 students will be selected for full sponsorship at Kijana Kwanza. The funding of the course is £300 per student. If you would like to donate to transitioning these children into secondary school, please donate here

UK PROJECTS

Charity begins at home, and BCT are equally as passionate about assisting those in need in the UK as well as internationally.

CHILDREN OF ADAM

Children of Adam support approximately 110 of Londons’ vulnerable each week, providing them with hot meals, clothes and toiletries. They have expanded their drive to provide guests with toilet paper each month, and now with your help, 4 rolls are now distributed per guest.

HAND ON HEART

BCT are proud to continue our partnership with HoH. We have recently completed the Summer Homeless Essential Campaign, where 1,300 packs were distributed to vulnerable groups throughout August.

Each drawstring bag was filled with -

  • Polo Shirt

In addition to this, our School Backpack campaign, provided 1,000 backpacks to children from disadvantaged families filled with school supplies. With the cost of living crisis now being faced by thousands of families all over the UK, there is sadly a rise in the number of families seeking support for basic essentials.

All bags included as standard:

Please look out for our Winter Warmer campaign which starts in November, 2000 packs will be distributed to vulnerable people that are homeless as the harsh winter months draw in
