Chakama is one such area that is being badly affected by drought. Comprised of 40 villages, and located within Kenya’s Kilifi Country which is one of the poorest counties in Kenya, the community lives under very harsh conditions. Men, women and children are going hungry and thirsty. Weak from hunger, they now have to walk several times the usual distance in search of water which they are not guaranteed is there. These water sources are now 15/20km away instead of just a few km.
