With dark evenings and an unprecedented hard winter, thousands of individuals and families in the UK will experience some form of homelessness. The cost of living crisis is effecting thousands of people all around the UK, with many turning to outreach drives and food banks for support as they struggle to make basic ends meet.

2023 summer

Beta Charitable Trust believe it is just as important to provide essential items in the upcoming summer months. Alongside our partners Hand on Heart, we will be assembling and distributing 1,000 packs to vulnerable groups in June to August in a Summer Campaign.

In addition to this, we are also supporting Hand on Heart with their Back to School campaign, where 1,000 back to school backpacks will be provided for children of low income/disadvantaged backgrounds.

2023 winter

Due to the continued cost of living crisis and the harsh cold weather that we have experienced, the Winter Warmer Pack campaign continued into the months of January and February. With 1,200 further winter warmer packs distributed to 18 locations throughout Birmingham, Brighton, Leicester, Luton, Manchester, Slough and London.

Another 2,000 homeless packs were distributed in the Spring campaign, between April and May, including both Ramadan and Easter.

Each year at this time, we support our partners Hand on Heart in their Winter Warmer Campaign, Serving winter essential items to rough sleepers in the freezing cold temperatures. This years campaign was the biggest to date with a huge 2,000 backpacks distributed.

The packs contained Hoodies, thermal tops and bottoms, underwear, winter gloves, hot water bottle, woolly hat, deodorant, shower gel, wet wipes, tooth brush and tooth paste, hand sanitizer, face masks and bottled water.

This year, we are proud to have supported their annual Christmas Gift Pack Appeal. Our partnership has meant that in addition to helping homeless and vulnerable groups, we have marked this time of year to bring a little Christmas cheer to children from all faiths and backgrounds. Over 400 gift bags filled with books, pencils, markers, activity books and chocolate were distributed to children who are poorly and spending the holidays in hospital. The gift bags were delivered to over 10 hospitals in Basildon, Birmingham, Edmonton, Harrow, London (GOSH & St Thomas), Milton Keynes, Northampton, Romford, Upper Holloway and Watford.

In addition, we supported with the distribution of 1,000 school backpacks for children of low income families in the UK, and 100 to children in Mombasa. Kenya.
