The Problem

The WHO (2019) have stated that over 579 million people worldwide are drinking unsafe water from hand-dug wells, ponds, swamps, rivers, and springs. Contaminated water can transmit diseases such diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and polio which is estimated to cause 485,000 diarrhoeal deaths each year.

Project Overview

BCT has always championed the cause for clean, safe water and have been passionately involved in many projects to provide water wells and hand pumps that will deliver precious water that is clean and accessible and so prevent life threatening diseases. In addition to this, we are

With assistance from our partners on ground, hand pumps are installed in Pakistan giving many families access to clean water, improving their chances of living a healthy life.

UPDATE (2019)

We are so excited that in 2019 alone, we have commissioned another 19 wells, providing vital water supplies to the driest parts of India, Kenya & Tanzania.

These newly dug wells have been fitted with electrical pumps immersed so the wires and pipes are all buried underground and water is pumped straight to reservoir tanks which are connected taps that provide fresh drinking water and/or water for washrooms usage.

Take a look at the images of our ground breaking solar powered pump in Vitongoji, Arusha, which serves 3 villages with 15,000 litres of water!
