| Sachek Medical Centre continues to save lives as support for them grows |

Sachek Medical Clinic has become the thing of legend here at BCT. Each month we receive a patients summary and report that details how many patients were seen in that month, their age and what they were suffering from Some families are close to the clinic, making it very easy to get care and advice when loved ones or an individual gets sick or hurt. Locals can take some comfort in the fact that clean and professional medical help is just down the road. For others the journey must only be taken in times of desperation. Blistering heat engulfs many of the surrounding cities and towns around the Sachek clinic. The journey some go on to reach Sachek requires them to camp overnight, bring as much water as possible whilst being constantly reminded of the illness they or a loved one are carrying. Below is a bar chart that shows the four different, but common types of illness:
Last month the amount of cases with dysentery was cut by almost half. Unfortunately there will always be illness and health issues. As you see above the amount of Pneumonia cases that have appeared are above the normal amount we have seen from previous monthly reports. Urinary tract infection is down this month but still fairly high. Arthritis will unfortunately be apparent on every report as the elderly suffer the most from this and need to have regular check ups. Pelvic inflammatory disease is an excruciatingly painful affliction. This makes travelling extremely uncomfortable for the patient, some of which travel many miles to find a cure. In total 125 patients visited the clinic in search of treatment and advice. In the below bar chart we take a look at the age ranges of each patient from below ten years old up to 60 years old. In this bar chart we should be able to see the difference in last month and hope that the number of ten years and below age range has dropped.
As you can see in November the amount of children that visited the clinic were down quite a lot. The number of twenty year olds visiting the clinic has risen slightly but not alarmingly. The number of thirty year olds has stayed roughly the same, while the number of 60 years has dropped significantly. This means that the elderly are either getting better, or were unable to make the trip...
