14 Water Wells Commissioned For Wajiir Area's in East Africa

Wajiir is a town in the North Eastern Province of Kenya. It's location is prone to major drought. The towns remote location means it is inaccessible to vital water supplies and food stocks, making each journey for the search for water a grueling challenge for survival.

In the Wajir district, 96 percent of the population does not have access to clean drinking water. The town has no conventional water supply system, making the vast majority of the population dependent on saline and hard water extracted from shallow wells in the area.

Water is the most basic of elements, vital for mans survival. Everyone has a right to access clean water. At Beta Charitable Trust, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have the tools to make clean drinking water a reality. Subsequently BCT have commissioned 14 water wells to be built in the Wajiir area

This problem is not  uncommon in East Africa, the recent drought has highlighted the difficult daily circumstances many Africans quietly endure. The water wells that are provided by funding from BCT are essential in allowing these small villages to survive, grow and prosper. A water well not only provides fresh, clean drinking water for human consumption but also for livestock. It also provides essential water for irrigating crops.
