| Ground Team Shares Their Views On The Famine In Kenya |
|
Over the last seven weeks our ground team have worked tirelessly to make your donations count. They have travelled day and night to make sure each village in desperate need get the aid provided. The ground team targeted areas that had been worse hit by the drought and famine. These areas include; the Coast, Eastern Villages and mainly northern provinces. The population of the areas visited relied mainly on the live stock and vegetation they could grow. Their livestock involved animals such as; camels, goats and cows. Due to the drought most of these animals died or are severely malnourished, leaving the villagers with nothing. There is very little support for them to stand on their own feet, the land is under developed and has little chance of catching up soon, making the people poor and leading to weak coping mechanisms when situations like the drought occur. Our ground team has taken on the knowledge and sights they have seen over these seven weeks and will be supplying us with a long term plan that will help the people of these villages for good. Our ground team provided aid for these villages. This does not mean just food. Along the way they helped build wells, educate farmers and up-date wells that had been there for some time and were insufficient for the area. |
