1,000 Mosquito Nets...1,000 Plastic Sheets

Sindh is dealing with the aftermath of yet another devastating flood. The people and their land are still submerged in what the locals are calling the worst flood to strike Pakistan. This has left them unable to make temporary camps as the water still runs around their feet and would simply wash away.

It has left the citizens exposed to all manner of things the flood has brought with it. Crocodiles are swimming through the streets. Snakes are attacking out of fear, over 7,000 people are now suffering from bites and mosquitoes are in their element as they stalk the humid area with plenty to eat.

Mosquitoes can be dealt with; it is the diseases they carry that are harder to fight. The main diseases they carry are; Malaria, Dengue Fever and Yellow Fever. These, especially Malaria are deadly if left untreated.

As a counter measure BCT is facilitating 1,000 mosquito nets as a starting measure to counteract the infestation of mosquitoes. The nets will provide safety from the insects, along with warmth and peace of mind.

Due to the amount of water still engulfing normal rest sites the citizens are unable to find shelter if they are not by a government building like schools, hospitals etc. We have facilitated 1,000 plastic sheets (almost like a mini marquee) in an attempt to relieve those who cannot make the journey or are nowhere near any government buildings.

BCT has began to allocate the above relief to those who need it the most. Click here to provide one of the below relief solutions today:

  • £10 For a food ration pack
  • £2 For a mosquito net
  • £2 For a plastic sheet
