Our experienced ground force team have visited two villages in the Kitise division of the Eastern Province. These areas have been badly affected by famine and drought plus being nearly five hours away from Nairobi, help does not come that often. Here the community health worker informed our ground team there has been a massive increase in malnutrition among young children under the age of five.
Without food or water your body will begin to deteriorate and you become prone to infections and illness. One thing that was noted by our ground force is with the lack of water and the increase of heat the children and some adults are beginning to develop fungal skin infections.
