Play And Resource Centre (PARC) are an Essex based charity that BCT has begun working with in an attempt to provide disadvantaged children with quality education and care.

PARC was founded in 1995 by a group of parents with have disabled children. The idea of PARC was to provide a safe and fun environment for their children to play and learn in. The PARC Centre is just what they had hoped it would be, it is safe, fun and there is an exceptional amount of educational materials designed for the needs of the children. The centre is open all year round, day through till night. Their main source of funding is via donations, fund raising days and constant support from their regular donors.

Just before Christmas, PARC approached BCT and asked if we would help give the children that attend there a really special treat before they go away for the holidays to enjoy the festive season. PARC decided that the best way to do this would be to hold a Santa's Grotto event within the Play And Resource Centre. The Grotto had a magical display which was filled with snow, glitter, sparkles and ribbons, all designed to make the children excited for Christmas.

The PARC team managed to raise a total of £300 for the event, with a £100 donation from BCT. The day consisted of the children meeting Santa and his helpers, asking for and receiving a present from Santa himself (who kindly volunteered his time during his busy period) and enjoying food and games throughout the day.

PARC are dedicated in providing excellent care and support to the children and the parents who attend the centre and thanks to wonderful donations from various donors and BCT they were able to provide a magical day for all the children that attended.
