| 80 Desks Facilitated To Primary School In East Africa |
|
To be able to go to school in some parts of the world is a luxury. Children do not have the automatic right or choice for schooling unless their parents can fund their course from start to finish. Some student’s parents can afford the classes but not the exams. Some young adult learners cannot afford to even begin a semester or even the initiation fee just to enrol them onto the course.
Primary schools are where learning begins. I have fond memories of my primary school, each tailored to the environment I was placed in. I learned well due to up to date text books. and excellent resources I completed all my work due to the comfort and inviting environment of my class room. But if I had experienced none of these things I believe I would not have enjoyed school or learned as much as I did. Beta Charitable Trust has three main aims and objectives
The principle lack of resources in question in a primary school we work closely with are desks. A school has been built in Kidunashi that has produced excellent results from examinations so far. But the children use rocks as seats and their laps as desks. These children feel so blessed to be at school and to be receiving an education that they rarely complain. Here at BCT we have recognised this need for desks in the local area and are facilitating 80 three seater desks, complete with chair and writing top. The desks we provide will increase the comfort of the students and hopefully instill the magic of going to school in them more than they ever imagined. Small things like desks can improve education enormously. We all know with an increase in education, the job and career prospects of the students will rise dramatically allowing them to progress and ultimately give back to their community in the long run. One three seater desk, complete with table top costs just £45.00.
