An Electrocardiogram or ECG as it is more commonly known is a small device that can save lives when used at a check up clinic. The ECG records the electrical activity of your heart. Impulses from your heart are detected by the ECG and any irregular pulses or beats are recorded and printed out. An ECG can help find the causes of symptoms such as palpitations or chest pains. An ECG can accurately detect 85% of heart problems, making the ECG a simple yet valuable tool to these parts. BCT donated a total lump sum of £375.00 in order to purchase one for the Puttenahali clinic in India, since then it has gone on to prevent lives being lost and also helped allocate correct medication for the right patient. |
