| Build A Well, Save A Village |

Sustainable, clean drinking water; that is what we are trying to achieve in some of the poorest countries in the world. In many parts of Africa, poor sanitation and hygiene, coupled with a lack of maintenance to government water supplies has meant that water born diseases are common, leading to poor health, disease and often death. Beta Charitable Trust strives to stamp this out. We are trying to provide water wells for villages across East Africa and we need your help to do so. It is Woman and Children who have the arduous job of making the daily journey to fetch water for themselves and their kin. These journeys are hugely time consuming and hazardous and the return journeys even more difficult as they are then walking back carrying litres of water on their backs. Go to the tap with a glass, turn on the tap and fill up the glass. The idea of getting water for most of us is as simple as that. Yet just an 8 hour plane journey away people are struggling to find clean safe water to drink. There are water holes and there are government supplied water trucks that occasionally visit small villages. These supplies are often dirty and not very well maintained. A water well will cost between £750 - £1200, depending on the geographical location of the village that needs it. You can help change the way a whole village lives by donating toward the Water Well Project. Please Visit our Donation page today. |
